On the 26th of December St. Stephens day groups of boys go out disguised following the wren. This is the old custom kept in honour of St. Stephen.
On May morning in the olden times it was a custom for the woman of the house to go out to her neighbours cow and milk her. Then it is said she had her neighbours supply of milk and butter along with her own for the following year.
Another old custom which is still connected with May day is that if people wash their faces in the May morning dew they won't look any older for the rest of the year.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
