About two miles east of Reengagora is a place called Creagh where a landlord by the name of Beecher lived long ago. His house is situated by the bank of the river Ilen. About one hundred yards from it, is a little house dark and dreary inside. In the Penal Days Catholics used be shut into this little house and left there to starve. Some were suffocated to death there. The house is still to be seen.
