- Long ago when there were no doctors there was a man in every village who was able to cure diseases by giving them medicine made from herbs.There are some cures from herbs which everyone knows. A sting from a nettle is cured by rubbing it with a 'dockin' leaf. A wasp sting is cured by rubbing it with an onion.
The juice of the dandelion cures certain diseases also. When a child's throat is swollen it gets better if bandaged with gladum. The yellow jaundice is cured by certain medicine made from weeds. The medicine consists of herbs and insects. Certain diseases are cued in cattle by gving them medicine(continues on next page)- Collector
