It is also said that lights used to be seen about nine o'clock going from one fort to another. The old people say that it is not right to go into a fort without a rope being tied to your leg because if the light quenched the rope would guide you out. There is another fort in Cahernacrine and one day a boy went in there and he brought out cinders in his hands and there is a heap of burnt coals near the fence.
The owners of the land in which these forts are, are never ploughed or interfered with. Anyone whoever interfed with them, some misluck befell on them. It is said that a man ploughed a fort and after a few days his hands were paralysed. It is also said that another man ploughed a fort and after a few days he got blind and he turned the sods he had already ploughed into their former place and his sight was again restored to him.
