    VI. O holy Angel me defend.
    And bring me to a happy end.
    VII. At the beginning of a new hour.
    Accept the hour thats past, O lord,
    And bless the hour to come.
    8. Dear Father count the hours to night.
    While I'm asleep and cannot see.
    And in the morning may the light.
    Shine for the world my friends, and me.
    9. Thank God for having lived so long.
    And done so little harm.
    10. Here I lay myself down to sleep.
    To the Almighty God I give my soul to keep.
    If any evil approaches me.
    St. Luke and Saint John pray for me.
    Holy Mary, Matt and John.
    God bless this bed that I lay on.
    God the Father bless me.
    Jesus Christ defend and keep me.
    Into thy hands O Lord I commend my spirit.
    Lord Jesus receive my soul. This prayer is said when going to bed.
