- The most popular game played by boys is "marbles". For this game a pitch three feet by two with lines all round. There are three holes made in each pitch. The players then stand at the top line and play for the holes.
Another game for boys is "duck and granny". For this game a boy puts a stone on a side of a ditch. Then the other boys tries to fall his stone. Then if he touches any other boy with his hand while going back with his stone, he has to put up his own stone and go on with the same procedure. Others play "table tennis". A table nine feet by four is made. The players stand at each end of the table with bats in their hands. One player has a ball & he serves it to the other with his bat.
The other player takes the serve and plays it back to the server and so on to the end of the game. A net is situated in the middle of the table facing both the players and when either of the players hit this net with the ball when in play loses a point. This is how the game of "table tennis" is played.- Faisnéiseoir
