- There are several holy wells in this parish. The principal one and the most popular is at the village of Cullen, where the people assemble once a year to honour a Saint called Lateran. Her feast day is kept on the Sunday before the twenty-fifth of July. On that day several people assemble in the village of Cullen.
The old people pay rounds, and pray to the Saint, and the young people amuse themselves. There is another holy well at a place called Mushera to the south of Millstreet, where the people assemble on St Johns day. Large crowds assemble there also, and exactly like Cullen the old come to pray and the young come to amuse themselves. There is also a holy well at Mount-Leader, known as the "slánan" but very few people(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
