People used often exchange one article for another. When a person used purchase a machine, the shopkeeper used give a few shillings as luck, to the purchaser. - About forty years ago shops were few in this district. When people wanted articles from country shops they often gave labour in payment for the goods. When goods were purchased in town the people usually gave farm produce such as potatoes for them. People got most of their goods from huxters. There was a huxters shops in Inchebeg owned by Mrs O'Leary.
