Ar an leathanach seo
- Long ago the good of the local people was different from the food of the present day. At that time people used potatoes at least three meals in the day. They had plenty of milk then. They usually drank milk from which the cream had been separated.
Meat was plentiful then as it is now. Both fresh meat and fish were used. All kinds of vegetables were used, cabbage, turnips, and other such kinds.
Plain bread was used which was made from wheat ground by a quern into flour. Some kind of bread was called oaten meal bread and some other kind was called potato bake. The bread was baked in a bastible.
