The father wanted to know how she was getting on. He gave a party and invited all his daughters and their husbands. He said to the husbands. "I bet you my wife is a better worker than your wives." The first man bet £10 that his wife was better and so on they were all rising £10. The last man who was the young farmer bet £50 that his wife was the best worker.
