- There is only one tailor in this district. He works in his own home. He does not stock cloth but keeps patterns. Cloth is not spun or woven here. Serge and tweed are the two kinds used. The implements a tailor uses are a thimble, a needle, a scissors, a measuring tape, chalk, thread, and a sewing machine. Seldom shirts are made in homes The kinds of cloth used for making them are flannel, flannelette and cotton. In nearly every home socks and stockings are knitted. Thread is not spun locally and there is no spinning wheel in the district. There is no special clothe's worn at Weddings or funerals or such occasions but people wear the best clothes they have.
There was an old tailor lying on his death bed long ago and he sent word to all the local tailors that he wanted them. When they arrived the advise he gave them was "Cuir snaidhm ar cheann do snáth nó sgeinnfidh sé."- Bailitheoir
