    The occupants had to emigrate to America, as there were no means of a livelihood in their native land.
    The land of Ballybahallagh is hilly, and is fairly good with the exception of two or three farms. The fences are not planted, and consequently the fields are not protected from the cold winds. Of late years some farmers are remedying this defect, and it is to be hoped that the others will follow their example. The river Allow bounds Ballybahallagh on the western side. Spencer the poet, made mention of the Allow in one of his poems
