The stable is attached to the cowhouse at the western end. On the door there is a horse shoe fastened with nails. This is supposed to bring luck.
The Piggery is a modern structure. At the far end of the farmyard. The walls are made of cement and it is covered with corrugated iron. There is a cement floor, and the inside is divided up into little apartments. The pigs sleep in one of these apartments and there is a special place for feeding them. This Piggery is a great improvement on the old one, as it is very easy to keep it clean, and besides food is not wasted as formerly.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
