   Tea was first used in this district about seventy years ago, and then only by the well-to-do classes. The tea was allowed to draw in a 'tea-drawer', a vessel made of tin, and after ten minutes or so by the fire, the tea was poured from the 'drawer' into an earthenware tea-pot. As cups were rare then, basins were extensively used instead. The servants and working men did not get tea for breakfast until about forty years ago. Some of the stingy farmers, however, held on to the old custom of serving potatoes for breakfast for a few years,
