    6. Nail Making
This industry once existed in the house which is presently occupied by Mr Hurley Castle-view Mallow. The nails were hand-made and it is said that Mr Nolan the "Nailer" often produced a hundred nails a day. This industry was (often) also carried on by the Jones Bros., a short distance from the aforesaid site. There is no trace of either of these industries.
    7. Salt Making
Salt was made in the Main Street of this town. It was made by a man named Barry.
Mallow had two coopers, one in Fair St name Herlihy and another in Ballydaheen named Fitzgerald. They both made firkins, troughs, washing tubs, keelers, and barrels for holding pork.
    9. Lime Burning
There was two Lime Kilns in Mallow, one in Bath View (Mr Sullivans field), the other in the Spa. Mrs Roche was the owner of the former and Mr Robert Barry of the latter. The Colum for burning was brought from Dromagh near Banteer. The stones were quarried on the Spa road. This industry still exists in Mallow.
