    There is an old road about one mile from my home. This road is leading down to the Black Water, and is called the "Church-road" because there is an old Church built at the end of it.
    There is a field in my father's farm and he calls it "Dick's field" because a man named Richard lived in a little house by the side of that field long ago. The townland is Lavally.
    There is a cross roads about one mile from the town of Mallow and it is called "Bell's - Cross" because Lady Bell lived in a great house the entrance of which is near the cross. This house is now in the possession of the De La Salle Brothers who have a training school for boys there.
    Just outside the town of Mallow to the North West there is a hill called the "Kennel Hill". The reason it is called by this name is, because long ago there
