- Once upon a time there lived in Currabinny, Co. Cork, a giant whose name was Curragh-fue. One day when he was playing marbles he threw one in the direction of Crosshaven, and it landed on the sea shore in front of Kennefick's Hotel; although this stone is at the edge of the sea the tide never seems to wash it away. The print of the giant's thumb can be seen on the stone.
Another day, as he was playing, he threw one in the direction of Hoddersfield where it landed, and the print of the giant's thumb and five fingers can also be seen on this stone.
At that time there also lived in Crosshaven another giant. One day the two giants fought so fiercely that the other giant killed Curragh-fue and then Curragh-fue's warriors took him to Currabinny, and they buried him(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
