    should give the churn-staff a few beats or the hand a few twists (as the case may be). This was done because people believed that if any person other than the members of the household was present during the churning and did not help with the work in some little way that he (or she) would take away the luck of the butter. If the luck were taken away from the house visited it was considered that the butter of this house of the visitor who did not help with the churning. If a visitor did not take a "drass" of the churn of his own accord he would certainly be asked to do so by some member of the household.
    If a family did not have success in the making of butter or if the members were not skilled in the work the following superstitions practice was carried out a long time ago. After a person that was a good butter-maker died one of the hands was cut off the corpse + then it
