Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The farm animals are cows, calves, the horses and the pigs. The names of our cows are Black Puss, Short Horn, and Bány. When we are calling the calves we say suc, suc, suc. When we are driving in the cows, we say How, How, How. The name of our horse is Fannie, and she walks to us, when we call her. My father sometimes calls her by saying preich, preich.
When an ass is braying, it is said that a tinker is dead. The sheep bleet to call their lambs.
Cows are sometimes tied with soogans and also with a rope. The soogans are made of hay, and are tied, around the horns. A piece of cloth is put inside the soogan to prevent the horns getting sore.
A colt's skin or kid skin is hung on the rafters, of the stable and cow-house to bring luck to the stock. A horse-shoe is nailed to the stable door to bring luck also.
