would be proceeding towards the place where the ghost used
to be seen. Away he went, the blacksmith wishing him good luck.
He was nearing the spot where he expected he would meet the ghost when suddenly out from inside the
ditch came the "ghost." He was at the side from which the
ghost appeared. She made at his feet but he bravely caught the
traces of the plough, struck her with them, and she fell.
Then he knew well she was not a real ghost. He put her
into the car and tied her there. She said she would give
him a fortune if he left her go but he refused to do so.
When he reached hoe, he took her off the car
and carried her to the door. He knocked there and his father got up and opened the door. He shoved her in before
him. His father collapsed on the floor when he saw the
"ghost." His mother got up and the same thing happened to
her. He tied the "ghost," to the crane and got his father
and mother to recover. After telling them what had
    happened they went to bed.
In the morning he made off to the ghost's
house. There he found as much money as a millionaire
would have. The matter was reported to the police. A big force
of the latter arrived from Tralee and Castlemaine to take
the "ghost," to the barrack but he would not leave them.
He tackled his horse to the car again and put her
sitting on a chair inside in the car and tied her to
it. Then he drove off to Tralee as happy as any coachman.
