- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)it removed was in the middle of the road, and an old ragged woman whether natural or not stood by directing the traffic. There is another in Borrigowen and an old man near it was cured of bone disease by it. There is also a well in Curragh called Baptist's Well. It is said that long ago some boys went out purposely to mock this well, by washing their hands and faces in it. They were horrified next morning to find that their skin was black. They were sorry then for what they had done, and after a year they were told to wash themselves in a stream flowing from the well. They did so and they were cured. Long ago there was a holy well called Barley Well near Feenagh.
