  1. St Mo Lua's Well (local 'pattern').
    A pattern is held in this parish every August, beginning on August 3rd and ending on August 15th which is 'Lady Day' and the feast day of the whole parish. Our little church is the Church of the Assumption Almost all the people go to the pattern and do the rounds.
    Rounds. Three visits must be during this period. Nine rounds of the well must be done (path is well worn + marked out). The Rosary must be said at least once - it may be said oftener or any other prayers the person likes.
    Water must be drunk before or after round - generally after.
    Water cures sore eyes of ever description and all facial or skin diseases.
    There is great faith locally in its efficacy + I have heard of children from the parish write from America for "Mo Lua water."
    Manner of Paying Rounds at Well.
