Story current in the Parish as to removal of Well. The original site of this well was the top of Kilbreedy hill; Its side is still to be seen - a sort of recess in the ditch with a flag in front which shows the impress of two knees.
Here a soldier's wife knelt + washed her baby's clothes + in the morning the well had disappeared + re-appeared in Emlygrennan, where it now is.
The Patron Saint of the well is St. Mo Lua, native of County Limerick + foster child of St. Ita.
Contemporary of St. Brendan of Kerry + of Kevin nephew of St. Ita.
