He also said that the same thing had happened to many others and that he was the last one to be.It was the first of it the landlord had heard. He was furious that such villainy was being done in his nae. He ordered food and drink for the poor man, gave a clear receipt for all rent due by him and told him that he'd settle with the agent. He ordered a room and a bed to be got ready but our poor man - by name "Gaff" would not rest till he got home again and so he started out again and "hit" the road home. But the landlord saw to it that he was well supplied with food for the journey. He never heard a word of the eviction or [?] after hence that property is now in the hands of the Howard's-Gaff's daughter "Jane" (R.I.P.) being married to Howard.
