- (continued from previous page)He put up a large wooden cross set in cement on the spot where that grand old Fenian died and in after years he was a member of the committe that put up the present monument at the Kilclooney Wood. I have the flag yet that they used to carry to Kilclooney. Its a large green flag with a harp in the centre.
It was he as I said before that got the large Celtic Cross erected at Kilclonney Wood in memory of Peter O'Neill Crowley. The meeting was presided over by Alderman Meade, the then mayor of Cork.
