Authority Mr P. McCabe Castleconnell
Ivy leaves are used for cleaning navy blue clothes. The clothes are damped before the ivy leaves are applied. The ivy leaves are placed on the clothes and then the clothes are pressed. The ivy leaf is also a good remedy for corns. A weed called the dock leaf is used for curing a sting or a burn. The Yew tree is of no harm to a beast when it is growing, but if the tree falls and a beast eats it, it is poisonous.
When cockle-root is boiled and the boiling water strained off it the root itself is a good remedy for scabs and soars.- Faisnéiseoir
