So he got into the field and was not gone very far when he saw a hand holding a lighted candle in it. Of course he was frightened but he thought of what he heard at home that you should always follow a light in the night. So he followed the example.
When he came near the light it went along slowly in front of him. There was a neighbour's house on his way home and when the light came to the house it disappeared. He went into the house to see if anything were wrong. When he went in the man of the house was in bed but was tied up some way in the bedclothes and was choking. So he relieved the choking man and went on his way home.
