He showed his strength at a tug-o-war which was got up by the priest in the village of Drom. He used to pull the opposite side, yards through the field. The Priest and all the neighbours of the village would gather on every Sunday evening to look at the contest.
- Andrew Quinlan, Foilnaman, townland of Foilnaman, parish of Kilcommon, Co Tipperary was a noted stone thrower. He died in the year 1897 and was born in the year 1817. He was challenged by Thomas Keilly Carrig-on-(continues on next page)
