    in the N.E. is semicircular, that in the South wall is pointed. Underneath the Celtic window is the remains of a gallery. On top of the Chancel gable there was a belfry. In the N + S. sides of the chancel, were three windows originally celtic, but afterwards built up to form small square heated lights. The ruins. : are of mixed architecture + have an unusually large chancel.
    Near the Castle is an irregular low mound containing about 1/4 acre. It marks a church site, and the owner of the land pays no taxed on it.
    Papal tax in 1291 was 8 marks

    In Moycarkey Church yard are following tombs:-
    (A) Edward Purcell, Tomb of 1691 with wife's name Ellen Hackett.
    (B) Dan Maguire's tomb 1725
    (C) Denis Delaney's tomb, 1719 + his wife, Ellen Hackett, died 1722
    A Pattern was annually held in this church on Dombrach Crim Duibh or Garland Sunday from which O Don. infers it was one of the Churches of St. Patrick.
