- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)foot. He made no complaint thinking it
to be part of the sermon. The wounded
troops of king William, returning from
the seige of Limerick, were kindly received
by the inhabitants of Cashel. The ruins
and the joining churchyard are surrounded
by a high wall. Entrance can be got
by following the road which goes round
the Castle to the right hand side. Near
it are the ruins of a place called Hore

underneath the rock. At one time a poor
man found a few pots of gold there but
he was innocent and did not know what

thickly. After a time a man came to
his house and he showed him the pots.
This man was Daimer and he told
him the pots were of little value but that
he would buy them all for a hundred
pounds. The poor man sold them all
to him for the money. This was how
Daimer was made rich. There is an old
saying "as rich as Daimer."- Bailitheoir
