    It was a beautiful summer evening and, taking out my bicycle, I went for a spin through the Glen of Aherlow.

    From where I sat I could see the Aherlow, winding in and out past lonely farm-houses, and the ruins of Ashes Castle, like a lonely sentinel of the days that are gone, dwarfed by the towering Galtees. Down the mountain came "Moll-na-Onseach".
    "God save you Moll" said I.
    "God save you kindly" she answered.
    After chatting awhile I asked,
    "Will you tell me why do they call you Moll the Onseach"
    "Wisha I'll tell you" and she smiled.
    "I was always a big old fool and at everybody's beck and call and my grandfather who was a blacksmith used to say,
    "Moll you are a right Onseach, making a penny boy of yourself for everybody, and from that
