When a young farmer intends to get married word is sent to some farmers daughter and then the match begins. The girl's father walks the land and finds out how many acres the man has. Then the father pays to the man a dowry for marrying the daughter. There are generally a few men in the making of the match and they usually have a bottle of whiskey over it. Sometimes stock and goods are given in place of money to the gentleman who is getting married. some of the customs observed on the wedding day are as follows.
