  1. A protestant neighbour of mine named Friday who is now dead went out one evening through the fields of his own farm shooting rabbits. He was accompanied by his wife.
When they entered the field in which there is a fort they saw a small little man walking on the path out from the fort. He was no bigger than a baby and was the queerest and most unreal specimen of humanity they ever saw.
Mr. Friday said he would have a shot at him, and raised the gun to his shoulder, but his wife prevailed on him to refrain from doing so, stating that there was something unearthly about the creature, and that some misfortune might befall them if they injured it. Friday however could not resist the temptation and again raised the gun to fire, but immediately the little man vanished.
That night at about 12 o'clock Friday's cows went mad in the cow byre and some of them were so bad that he had to shoot them. Others of them died.
