Ar an leathanach seo
- Just beside the village called "The Mount" in the Parish of Knockavilla, is a farmer's house belonging to a man named Carmody. The dairy is by itself on one side of the yard and is built on what was once a fort.
After the threshing one year they had a dance, and during the dance one of the girls wanted a drink, so Mary Carmody went to the dairy to get her a drink of milk. She knew the fort was supposed to be haunted, but she didn't seem to mind. The dance ended and every thing went on just as usual.
About a month or so afterwards Mary Carmody went away to business, but she was gone only a very short while when she got into bad health and she had to come home.
The neighbours used to gather in every night, and as she wasn't very well, she used to go out for a while every evening when they came in.
One evening as she was out walking in their own fields she met a woman whom she had never met before. They started to talk about different(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
