- The New School
A new school now adorns the western end of the Island.
It was opened on the 17th of October 1938 and blessed by the Parish Priest Rev J. Greed.
It was mainly through his earnest efforts the new school was eventually agreed on.
It is most up to date and has all the requisites of a "Modern National School".
Twenty pupils can be accommodated - there are two play grounds one for the boys and one for the girls - a fuel house, a double entrance gate, etc.
Whilst the new School was being built, old one had to be evacuated - and school was held in an old uninhabited house on the Island.
