1.Long ago the houses were made of mud and sticks.The houses were built out in the lakes on account of the wild animals.The houses in Ennis are nearly all slated ,as most of the thatched houses are done away with .The streets at the time were made flag-stones.The Bank of Ireland ,long ago,was roofed with thatch .There was a house in front of the chaple named Spellisy's and it was a thatched house.- Bailitheoir
