Ar an leathanach seo
- Many old customs were practised at Funerals or Wakes in this locality twenty years ago. One or two are extinct but the rest still remain.
At wakes a song called "Song na Marbh" was sung but this custom is not practised nowadays. When a person dies the clock is stopped. When a coffin is leaving the townland in which the person lived it is placed on the road for a few moments. This is called the "last rest". Persons of the same name as the dead person carry the coffin from the house and into the Chapel and from this to the graveyard.Collected by:
