- There are two forges in my parish the smiths are Jack Lennon and Peter Flannigan. The smiths people have not been smiths during the past. The two forges are situated at crossroads.
The forges are of medium size, the two forges are alike the roof is made of boards and feldt, and the doors are square shaped. The fireplaces are fairly big it consists of a wide stone wall about three feet high and a little fire on the top of the wall in the cornor. There is a large sized bellows in it. The tools the smiths use are a sledge an anvil and a hammer. The smiths shoe horses and donkeys but no cattle. They also make ploughs, and harrows. They shoe wheels in open air. the smiths are always looked upon as been very strong.- Bailitheoir
