- We have a churn at home. It is a tumbling in a barrel churn.
The various parts are the stand, the part that the churn stands on, the handle is the part that the churn is twisted by. Our churn is four years old.
People give the churn dash a bounce down and take it up again.
If there is butter and no milk the churning is done.
On the barrel churn there is a glass on the lid and when the glass is clear the churning is finished.
People who have a dash churn take off the butter with a strainer.
Some women have a butter print that they bought in the shop, others have a special desigh of their own that they make wiht the clappers.- Collector
