- A large estate with several farms on it was called Beaulieu. It is the estate at the south end of the parish of Termonfeckin and included the farms of Banktown and Braughan.
There was one very bad landlady on this estate some years ago.
She had processes sent to the poor tenants for rent they could not pay. The poor process server came in for hard knocks the evening he entered the village. A few young men pelted him with stones. The servant of the bad land lady swore on innocent men as to the stone throwing and had them arrested innocently a 4 o'clock in the morning.
Kind and private information from a neighbouring woman got the men off free.
