  1. Long ago there was an old woman at Confession.
When she went into the Confession box the priest told her to repeat the Confiteor, When she came to "through my fault," "through my faults" she said, "Oh, Father, I broke my pipe."

  2. There was a man working at the Boyne Bridge at one time. At that time they used to carry a bag of coal home to Termonfectin. The man was coming along with his bag of coal on his back, when a man with a horse and cart overtook him and offered him a "sait" on the cart. So he put the bag of coal up on the cart and got up himself.
When he got "saited comfortable" on the cart, he asked the driver to give the bag a lift on his back, saying "It is very good of you to carry me but not the bag of coal."
