Some of the old fairs are discontinued such as: the great horse fair of Ballyboggan. The monthly fair of Trim is held on the principal street.
The fair of Rathmolyon held on the nineteenth of April is the only fair around in which toll was paid, that one penny per head on cattle bought.
There are no fairs around here held on hills or near forts, or church-yards. The old Brannoxtown fair, discontinued one hundred and thirty years ago, was held beside the church-yard. The fair green can be pointed out yet
