So Our Lord did consent. Next day Paddy was passing by some house and he heard crying inside and he went in. There was a dying man in one corner and a priest waiting to hear his Confession but the sick man would not go to Confession. In another corner the devil was standing and Paddy asked him what he was doing there and he said he was waiting for the soul. Paddy asked him why he was so sure of the soul and he said he had won it long(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
