The Frayne Road is not good as it is not a main road - it is just a road to the bog of Frayne. The surface is very bad, with many ruts and is not steam rolled. This road is not a favourite with motorists owing to the bad surface. The ruins of Frayne Castle are about a mile out of the town. This castle is supposed to have been destroyed by Cromwell.
The Kildalkey Road leads to Kildalkey. It is a distance of 4 miles. The surface is good. This Road is also called the Otterstown road. - There are many kinds of herbs in our district, such as nettles, Dockens, Thistles, Scutch and Presha.
The nettle is very plentiful. It grows by the side of a wall or ditch. It is a very harmful weed. It stings, people make wine out of it,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
