And there's no lass there, that can compare with the maids round Carrick lovely hill.
    4 verse
There is one spot amongst the lot,
    Where nature used her skill.
To build it grand in this fair land,
    As lovely Carrick hill,
This is the spot where stands my cot,
    Most beautiful and grand,
It is the nicest cottage you would find within the land,
The balmy breeze from oe'r the seas,
    It's vespers here doth blow,
The winter is like Summer time,
We have neither frost nor snow.
It is next to heaven on this earth.
Now I lay down my quill.
God bless you's all both great and small,
That lives round Carrick lovely hill.
