- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)was said in the Penal times. It is in the centre of a large shrubby wood on the of the Hill of Knock Oine, about four miles from here.
I have a short poem composed about the Penal Times which is as following, and made up about a church, that was raided in the Penal times:-
"Come all you Irish Catholics,
You Romans one and all,
And gallant Co. Westmeath boys,
Are ready at a call,
To help your country and your God,
Rejoice along with me,
That we have lived to see those days,
The clergy they are free.

Not like those days that are gone by,
These dates I cannot name,
When priests and congretation,
Were drenched with showers of hail,
When Mass was said in private,
Where the enemy did not know,
Through Mountains glens and valleys,
In the depth of frost and snow,

Some speak of Oliver Cromwell,
