- The worst storm remembered occurred on 27th February 1903.
The wind blew a strong gale for twenty four hours, and it knocked down houses, timber, hay and straw, and left a great number of people homeless. It commenced early in the morning, increased in intensity during the day, and at midnight it raged.
Cattle and horses, took shelter under trees, but they were killed when the trees fell.
