A Jinnie Spinner is made this way. A stem of a clay pipe a large plain pin and a piece of thread are got. The thread is rolled round the pin, (and a piece of thread are got) and a piece of it is left loose at the bottom of the pin. The pin is put in the stem of the pipe and the end of the threadis pulled. Then the pin spins round and round till all the thread is gone off it, and then it comes up to the top of the stem.
