   Not far from the recently discovered cave at Reynella there is a tree called "The Robber's Tree". Stories are told about this tree and how it got its name.
   Travellers on their way to and from Mullingar and Delvin were often waylaid by these robbers who had their hiding place in the cave.

   About the time of Napolean there was a war going on in the Continent of Europe. Provisions were becoming scarce in Ireland. People named Keeffe who lived in Sion Hill had a large area under wheat. The Government took over the whole crop of wheat as food for this Army in Ireland. Keeffs received no compensation whatever and after this they tilled none of their land in Sion Hill.
