- The commonest farm animals are cattle,s heep, pigs, horses and goats. The domestic animals are dogs and cats. Most people have names on their cows such as Bawny and Nellie etc. People of this district when driving cows and calves from the pasture fields - generally call out "How How".
Sometimes a Medal is hung on the cowshed door to bring luck on the stock. When cows are being milked people do not usually talk to each other as it is said locally that cows do not give their milk freely when talking is going on.
In this district and in fact through out this county cows are generally tied by the neck with a chain. These tyings are not made at home as they were long ago. They are usually bought in a hardware shop.- Bailitheoir
